The tourism of walkers finds its reference center in Bagnoregio.

Bagnoregio has become the hub for three new walking routes and is preparing to welcome a new type of visitor who stays in the area for several days. They are called 'Enchanted Walks,' 'The Way of the Etruscans,' and the latest addition is the 'Path of the Fearless Larth.' These represent a significant step forward in terms of the area's tourism offering.

These routes have been active for a few months, and you can already see groups of walkers with backpacks and hiking poles passing through the center of Bagnoregio, heading towards Civita. Bikers are also arriving, adding to the diversity of this kind of experience.

"We are very satisfied," says Mayor Luca Profili, "because these initiatives, carried out by private individuals and associations, are helping us improve and enhance the tourism offering of the area, encouraging longer stays. Those who embark on these walks follow organized routes with multiple stages, which keeps people in the area for three to five days, depending on the complexity and length of the journey. We are at the beginning, and we don't yet have enough data for statistics on this type of tourism flow, but we are confident that things will go well."

"We are entering a new phase of our tourism development. We need experiences that extend visitors' stays, and these walks attract those interested in the rightly celebrated slow tourism. This is important for the economic benefits it generates and helps us work on the broader area," says Francesco Bigiotti, the sole administrator of Casa Civita.

Specifically, 'Enchanted Walks' offer an excursion covering six municipalities in the Teverina area, visiting twelve towns and villages: Bagnoregio, Civita di Bagnoregio, Lubriano, Sermugnano, Vaiano, San Michele in Teverina, Sant'Angelo di Roccalvecce, the ghost town of Celleno, Celleno, Castel Cellesi, and Vetriolo. The 'Path of Larth' connects three tourist gems: Bagnoregio, Bolsena, and Orvieto. 'The Way of the Etruscans' makes stops at Castiglione in Teverina, Civitella d'Agliano, San Michele in Teverina, Graffignano, Sipicciano, Sant'Angelo di Roccalvecce, Celleno, Castel Cellesi, Civita, and Bagnoregio.

These are circular routes of about a hundred kilometers each, all with a dedicated website where you can order your own credential. Walkers and bikers get to experience a territory of unspoiled nature, charming villages, and historical and artistic treasures while spending three to five nights. It's a breath of fresh air for the many entrepreneurs who have personally and actively contributed to the development of tourism in the area.
